1. Kim Giao Forest - Ngự Lâm Peak (1.5km)
This trail allows you to experience a forest which is home to the rare, endangered and ancient Kim Giao trees. The trail continues onto Ngu Lam peak which lends spectacular views of the area.
Duration: 30 minutes each way
Trekking cross the main points such as: butterfly garden – zoo - botanical gardens - natural forest on limestone mountain - Kim Giao forest - Ngu Lam Peak.
2. Trung Trang & Uy Ban Grottos (1.2km)
Representative for caves and grottos system on Cat Ba archipelago with plentiful of mysterious stalactites. Home for many species of bat.
It is just a 10 minutes walk from the National Park HQ to the Trung Trang Cave. You will marvel at its impressive stalactites and resident roosting bats.

3. National Park HQ - Ao Ech - Viet Hai (14km: trekking & walking) - Lan Ha Bay(2 hours boat & kayak)
6 - 8 hours including boat trip or kayak
Hard hiking to different forest ecosystems to explore their wildlife resources in different forest types and discover local culture of community in Viet Hai village
When finishing 14 km of hikng and walk visitors can take the tourist boat or do kayaking trip to rediscover the most charming sea area of Cat Ba Archipelago - Lan Ha Bay with numerous spectacular small island with plenty hidden beaches awaiting in the clear and blue water. Still, they can do a lazy sunbath on the smooth with sand and see the life of local people doing fishing or growing aquaculture in float fishing village.
This trail starts close to the National Park headquarters and provides a much harder challenge. First you will visit a magnificent flooded willow forest in a valley high above sea level. The water is the largest concentration of freshwater on the island (1.5 - 2 hours one way to Ao Ech). You can return to the National Park from but If you wish to continue further, the next stop along the trail is Viet Hai commune, a traditional settlement within the National Park. Visitors can arrange to return to other areas (e.g. Cat Ba Town) by boat from Lan Ha Bay, the final destination of this trail.
4. National Park HQ - Ao Ech:
